Where estimating time actually goes
Ask a heavy civil estimator where the week went and the answer is usually the takeoff: finding the right sheets, setting scales, tracing curb and edge of pavement, counting structures and fittings, and typing it all into a spreadsheet by pay item. Pricing, crew planning and subcontractor coverage get whatever time is left.
CivilQuick Takeoff is AI takeoff software that does the measuring first. Upload the plan set, get a first pass of quantities back, and spend your time checking and pricing.
Takeoff that fits your estimating process
- Organized by pay item. Quantities come out the way bid items are listed, by sheet and in total, with units.
- Excel export. The takeoff downloads as a workbook you can paste into your estimating spreadsheet or import into the estimating system you already use.
- Your units and rates. Paving rates and aggregate weights are editable, so asphalt and stone tons match your local material.
- Incidental items on their own line. Work paid inside another item can be listed separately and marked incidental, so you can still get it priced by a subcontractor without counting it twice.
- Every number traceable. Click a quantity to see the linework it came from on the sheet. When a reviewer asks where a number came from, you can show them.
Check the engineer's estimate
On public work the bid tab is the engineer's quantity, and it is not always right. A takeoff measured straight from the drawings gives you an independent number to compare, item by item, before you commit to a unit price.
For estimating teams and independent estimators
Company accounts let an administrator add estimators, assign licenses and share projects across the team. Individual accounts are for independent estimators and consultants. Both are priced as one small monthly fee per user; pricing will be announced at launch.
Estimating questions
Is CivilQuick an estimating system?
CivilQuick Takeoff handles the quantity takeoff, the measuring and counting part of an estimate. It exports to Excel so the quantities flow into whatever you price with.
What kind of work is it for?
Heavy civil and site work: roadway and highway, DOT and municipal projects, and site development with paving, curb, sidewalk, storm, water, sewer and erosion control.
Does it replace my estimator?
No. It does the measuring so the estimator can review, correct and price. Every number stays under your control.
How much will it cost?
One monthly fee per user, with company and individual plans. Prices will be announced at launch.
